Frequently asked, honestly answered.
The questions I get most often from prospective clients and hiring managers, with the answers I'd give you on a 30-minute call. If yours isn't here, email me and I'll add it.
Working with me
What kinds of marketing engagements do you take on?
Three patterns land well: overseas brand expansion (especially APAC ↔ EN markets), AI-assisted ebook or quiz funnels, and GA4 / measurement work where the dashboards aren't telling the right story. B2B preferred. I open with a funnel diagnosis, not a creative pitch — see /process for the shape.
How long is a typical engagement?
Eight to twelve weeks at three days a week is the standard shape. Phase 1 (diagnosis) is two weeks. Phases 2 and 3 (audit and AI content production) overlap in the middle. Phase 4 (measurement loop) is the final two weeks and is the part that survives me leaving.
How do you price a project?
Day rate, billed fortnightly, with a fixed scope per phase agreed up front. I send a quote after a 30-minute scoping call, not before. Most engagements land in the AU$25–55K range depending on scope. I'd rather quote a real number against a real brief than publish a price grid that pretends every problem is the same shape.
Do you offer one-off audits, or only multi-month engagements?
Most of my work is multi-month, but I do take on standalone audits — funnel diagnosis or SEO audit, one to two weeks, fixed price. Audits work well as a first step that either ends in a clear handoff doc or graduates into a longer engagement, depending on what we find.
Are you taking on new clients right now?
I have capacity for one more client engagement at any given time. The /now page is updated monthly with the current state — check there if you want a current read on whether I'm available.
Logistics
Do you work remotely or only in Sydney?
Both. Most client work happens async over email and Loom, with one or two video calls when the brief firms up. I'm based in Sydney (GMT+11) and happy to meet in person locally, but the majority of engagements have been remote across AU/APAC and EN-speaking Europe.
What languages do you work in?
Project work happens in English. I can read and have professional working proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and conversational Mandarin (中文), which is most useful on briefs that touch APAC distribution, manufacturing, or expansion into Indonesia or China.
What's the best way to get in touch?
The contact form is the easiest — name, email, subject, and a paragraph about your situation. Or email directly at hello@anthonyligyat.com. Either way, I read every message and reply within a day or two. LinkedIn DM works too but tends to be slower.
What I won't do
What kinds of work do you turn down?
Worth saying out loud — it saves both of us a wasted call.
- Brand identity from scratch. I work with what exists or partner with a designer.
- Pure paid-media management. I'll diagnose paid and write the briefs, but day-to-day bidding is a specialist craft and I'd rather hire one.
- Black-hat SEO of any kind — including link-buying and AI-generated content farms. The E-E-A-T piece is why.
- Vanity-metric reporting. If a dashboard exists to make a team look good rather than to make decisions, I'm not the right person to build it.
Are you open to full-time roles, or only client work?
Both. I'm actively interviewing for the right Marketing Analyst or Growth role — Sydney or remote AU/APAC, strong preference for teams where measurement is taken seriously and AI tooling is welcomed rather than feared. Open to contract-to-perm.
